Windows 10 Cant Change Resolution

I've been running Windows 10 via Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro 2015 for several months. After a period of inactivity, and a corresponding backlog of updates, I can't change the screen resolution. It's stuck on the highest resolution, 2880 by 1800 pixels (Retina), and the Windows control panel settings are disabled. Is there a remedy?

windows 10 cant change resolution

For the longest time I've just had one screen. A few weeks ago I bought a second screen, I also had to buy a VGA to USB port (FrescoLogic FL2000 USB display adapter) because I don't have a second VGA port on the back of my desktop. My first screen is a Asus VS228H-p 21.5 inch monitor while the other is HP LV1911 which I'm pretty sure is a 18.5 inch monitor (it is def smaller than the other one). So once I plugged in my second monitor I realized that is a lot more zoomed in than normally, so I went to go change my resolution on the second screen, but I couldn't. The box is there, I can see it, but its gray and I can't edit it. So is there a way where I can change my resolution for my second screen? Or maybe I can't because I have two different monitors? Also I did check my graphics card, monitors, and the FrescoLogic adapter, and everything is up to date. Help me please my computer stats:

Yes, I can manually change the screen resolution. If I go to display settings on the remote pc I see roughly 20 options starting at 800 X 600 and going all the way to 2560 X 1600. I can choose any of the options and the screen will resize.

I have similar problem, both host and client running Win7 & TV12, I am offered "optimal resolution" of 1280x720 whereas it should be 1920x1080 which is what the remote laptop screen was running at (ie maximum resolution) before the teamviewer session. While connected with TV I am not able to change the resolution even within windows on the remote computer - only 1280x720p is offered there too. Anyone sitting at the remote computer can see 1920x1080 is still in operation but the sindows are all shuffled and resized to fit into a 1280x720 area.

If you are unable to change the screen resolution after installing some programs or making changes to the operating system, you can try restoring Windows 10 to an earlier date. Refer to our how to restore Windows 10 to an earlier date article for step-by-step directions.

3. Note, that you can individually click on each monitor in the Settings > System > Display and change its screen resolution. You should first click on Detect button/link there.

from client , log into host, then on host computer, go to windows settings, display, scroll down to multiple display, select 'Duplicate these display'. After that goto logmein toolbar , options, resolution settings and, now it would allow to choose the appropriate resolution setting.

Move the mouse pointer over the corner of the VM window, push the left mouse button and change the size of the VM window. The resolution of the user interface of guest Windows 10 is automatically changed. Now you can maximize the VM window size of the Windows 10 guest.

Since VirtualBox v.6.0.0 was released, VirtualBox Guest Additions have been provided for macOS guest OSs, while earlier versions of VirtualBox did not include Guest Additions for macOS. Unfortunately, the current version of macOS Guest Additions does not contain macOS graphic drivers to change the VM display resolution automatically when stretching or maximizing the guest VM window. Only the basic functionality is available right now, which means that you cannot use the same method of changing screen resolution as for Windows and Linux guest OSs running on VirtualBox after installing Guest Additions.

Now you can change the size of the VM window, and the resolution of your guest Linux will fit the size of the VM window automatically. Go to View > Full screen mode or press the Host+F combination to make VirtualBox full screen for your Linux guest.

Just right-click on the Desktop -> Display Settings -> Advanced Display Settings, and you will see Screen Resolution settings with many resolution options to choose from. However, many users reported that the screen resolution option is grayed out after they installed or upgraded to Windows 10.\r\n\r\nThe most probable cause of this issue is a problem with your graphics card. You can go to your computer manufacturer\u2019s website and download the latest driver for your graphics card. However, if you don\u2019t know the manufacturer and model of your graphics card, you can use a program like Speccy to know the detail of your system including the manufacturer and model of your graphics card.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOnce you've identified the model\/part of the Graphic\/Display Adapter, you can then download it from the manufacturer's site. Once you have downloaded the latest driver for your graphic card, compatible with Windows 10, you can move to the installation of the driver. If your downloaded driver has an installation utility, you can just run the utility and the installation wizard will take care of everything.\r\n\r\nHowever, if your downloaded driver does not have an installation utility, follow these steps to install the driver.\r\n\r\nHold the Windows Key and Press X. Choose Device Manager.\r\n\r\nDouble click on the Display adapters group to expand it, and right-click on the name of your graphics card.\r\n\r\nChoose Update Driver Software.\r\n\r\nClick Browse my computer for driver software.\r\n\r\nClick Browse, and point to the location where you have downloaded the driver for your graphics card. You may need to unzip the downloaded file if you have not done already.\r\n\r\nClick OK, and then click Next.\r\n\r\nThe driver installation wizard will install the graphics card driver.\r\n\r\nNow, you can go to the Screen Resolution settings and change the resolution according to your requirements.","publisher":"@id":"#Publisher","@type":"Organization","name":"Appuals.com","logo":"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/apuals_new_logo_B-1.png","publishingPrinciples":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/about\/#go-to-editorial-guidelines","sameAs":["https:\/\/facebook.com\/appuals","https:\/\/twitter.com\/appuals","https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/appuals\/","https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCR--2QnA0vYBfqsmSI3pQ9g","https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/organization\/appuals"],"author":"@type":"Person","name":"Kevin Arrows","url":"https:\/\/appuals.com\/author\/admin\/","description":"Kevin is a dynamic and self-motivated information technology professional, with a Thorough knowledge of all facets pertaining to network infrastructure design, implementation and administration.
